LRF presented the status of its Child Protection Units (CPUs) in Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Larkana and Dadu and to improve coordination and cooperation, mutual interest, recap the relationship and build synergy between SWD, LRF and STC to protect and promote Child Rights in Sindh.
Secretary SWD took keen interest in LRF’s work in Sindh with regards to Child Rights and Protection. He welcomed close coordination with its Sindh Child Protection Authority (SCPA) to develop other useful programs in future. He added that it would be of great help to Government of Sindh if LRF and STC develop Protection Programs for Street Children and Child Beggary in Sindh. He said that a related Awareness Program for DarulAmans where the street/begging children are kept will also be very helpful, he added. He said that SWD look forward private public partnership with LRF and STC for street and destitute children. He advised that LRF and STC team must visit SWD pilot project for Destitute and Orphanage Children in Malir founded by SWD.
LRF promised to strengthen SWD and proposed to start a Capacity Building Program for the Child protection authority (SCPA) to build the capacity of its staff and members. SWD welcomed such a gesture and support from LRF.
