LRF and STC Management Meet with Chief Secretary Govt. of Sindh
CEO Legal Rights Forum Malik Tahir Iqbal and Save the Children’s Country Director – Muhammad Khuram Gondal along with Save the Children’s Director Policy, Advocacy, Communications & Government Liaison – Muhammad Usman Aslam met with Chief Secretary Sindh Dr. Muhammad Shaikh Sohail Rajput and Secretary Implementation and Coordination Floods Response, Sindh Mr. Khalid Mehmood Sheikh to discuss the ongoing flood crisis in Pakistan and oriented them on LRF and Save the Children’s relief operations in the affected districts of Sindh in close coordination with District Administration, NDMA and PDMA-Sindh.
1st Pakistani girl to pass the post primary level through NFE policy
Learner girl, Ms. Sawera, a student of Accelerated Learning Centre (ALC) in Village Talib Shah of Shikarpur district receiving certificate of 1st Pakistani girl to pass the post primary level through NFE policy from honorable Minister Education-Sindh, Mr. Sardar Shah in Karachi.
Legal Rights Forum organized a Mega event Celebration on International Literacy Day-2021 on September 08, 2022.
Earlier, LRF Implemented a Project “Accelerated Learning for Girls” with the Support of “Save the children” in District Shikarpur. “70” ALCs were established for out of school & dropout Children who were enrolled to increase literacy ratio of Districts Shikarpur Sindh.
LRF's Pilot Project on Learning Tree App got Applause
Legal Rights Forum and Save the Children organized Experience Sharing and Consultation Workshops of Learning Tree Mobile Application for Distance Learning with national and international education stakeholders in Karachi, Islamabad, and Peshawar.
The events were aimed at engaging relevant stakeholders; orienting them on the piloting LT App experience and its effectiveness in distance education; seeking feedback for scale-up and leveraging their expertise in exploring other impact-driven interventions for Education in Emergencies.
Senior officials of UN agencies, Foreign Missions, INGOs and NGOs participated and took great interest in scaling up the Learning Tree Mobile Application and its extensive use during Education in Emergencies.
Opening of First Temporary Learning Centre in Shikarpur
Legal Rights Forum is one of the leading Non-Governmental Organization who took the initiative of opening Temporary Learning Centers (tent schools) to restore educational activity in flood affected district Shikarpur with the support of Save the Children and Sindh Education Foundation, Government of Sindh.
At the occasion, the CEO of LRF Malik Tahir Iqbal inaugurated the First Tent School in District Shikarpur at Village Mungrani of Taluka Lakhi on September 02, 2022.
